Streaming Well, partner agency of Healthware, and Videum worked together with the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) in UK on an initiative aiming to Decrease Cardiovascular Risk for Rheumatoid Arthritis Sufferers

This Valentine’s Day, NRAS has launched their online, interactive video educational programme ‘Love your Heart’ that will help those with the debilitating condition Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) understand why they are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and the impact RA can have on the most important organ - the heart.

Love Your Heart is a new, interactive online video programme that has been developed in partnership with Consultant Rheumatologist, Dr. Holly John, and in collaboration with Streaming Well, a leading interactive video producer.

”I believe that this initiative is the first of its kind within healthcare in that it incorporates a full training programme into a single interactive video. Originally, the programme was to be launched as a website, but we realised that increasing the amount of video and making it interactive would bolster the learning outcomes for patients.”
F. Namouk, CEO at Streaming Well

They decided to film all contributors against a green screen so that the footage could be easily adapted or swapped out as NRAS anticipates updating the programme as needed.

The videos have been then integrated within a full interactive video experience leveraging the Videum.com platform. Interactive videos provide for a full data-driven enrichment of the emotional video-experience allowing to add active items, call to action up to fully featured in-video data capture and algorithm based responses and interactions.

The interactive video supports full reporting functionality allowing the client to receive and analyse detailed user information regarding both their experience with their heart health and their use of the programme.

NRAS is making this groundbreaking programme widely available to everyone with this serious autoimmune condition so that they have the opportunity to find out why they are at increased risk of CVD and provide tools to help them lower their own individual CVD risk.

”In spite of the numbers of people with RA in the UK (>400,000) it does not have the public awareness of diseases such as Parkinson’s (127,000) and Multiple Sclerosis (100,000). It is still a relatively misunderstood and invisible disease. Getting to a diagnosis can therefore often be challenging as people don’t recognise the symptoms as a medical emergency. Equally, the increased risk of CVD is relatively unknown and so I’m really excited to have worked with Dr. John and hope that the Love your Heart programme will help all those with RA, like myself, to lead a longer and healthier life by addressing those risk factors that are within our own control. To sign up and start using the Love Your Heart programme, users must visit www.nras.org.uk/loveyourheart”
